Jom Ciauw with Chon... gulai ketam tumis darat

 Find yourself wondering what to cook this afternoon ?

Haaa..come, Cikson or kakChon as I was called by my sis, would like to share this simple dish cooked the simple way.





Tumis Darat!

You could use this method to make a quick and simple curry with prawns, crabs  or ikan kering. Ikan bilis included.

For two pax.

Ingredients...

1 pack curry powder cap apa apa saja.( bungkuih kecik na)

2 table spoon cili powder( optional)

1 teaspoon turmeric aka kunyit

1 bawang besar ( size sedang) diced*

4 garlics*... tumbuk se paruh dengan separuh bawang besar.

1/2 packet kecil santan .( use whole if you wish)

Nenas...sliced half a mangkuk

2 pieces crabs ,cleaned,and halved. Ketuk2 pincers tu utk senang makan nanti.

Daun kari segenggam or less


Here we go.....chiauw ....

1. Mix all the spices with bawang tumbuk. Add a cup of water.

2.Bring to boil.

3. After the curry smells nice, add crabs . Pour in santan.

4 Add sliced nenas. Season with salt . Bring to boil.Stirring constantly.

5. The gulai is done when the ketam is cooked. 

6. In another pan, fry the remainder bawang besar ,garlic, daun kari in half a cup of oil.Add to gulai.

7. Siaaap!

*Dear folks... gulai is kari for us Northerners or Kedahan. So if we say gulai ,it could be gulai ikan, gulai ayam etc...

Once in a while I got SOS from my children. Maaa,how to cook aaa? Your gulai...I mean.

  1. Tumis darat namp[ak lebih mudah berbanding tumis cara biasa. Orang kata tumis darat lebih sedap.

    1. Betul Amie. Cara tumis darat mmg mudah. Rebus saja. Masa masukkan ramuan yg digoreng tu,naik bau dia.
