Selalunya malam Sabtu,RTM jarang makcik tengok.Kalau nonton pun Tv 9 or Astro@ Channel 4 or Diva. Nak jadi cerita,malam tadi tertonton Berita RTM dan selepas itu rancangan siaran langsung yang lain dari yang lain.
Well,so not versed with the protocol of berdatuk datuk seri or datuk paduka…the event was organised by BAKAT. Hence we saw a number of MBs and their spouses present at the event.Donned in their brightly hued attire and surely heavy with glittering ornaments and free hair.
No ,those are not important but the show was. Seldom do we have the chance to see people with disabilities given the opportunity to grace the stage.Tonight was the night.Ranging from paraplegics to deaf and blinds,they gyrated ,they belted and serenaded . I was mesmerized by the song Seroja by a participant.And sure enough,he grabbed the first place.All in all ,the participants from Johor grabbed all the titles.
Honestly,its not the songs or the dances that count .But the spirit of believing in one self.Believing that they have the talent to stand tall in public.Bukankah ramai and me included yang selalu rasa rendah diri,takut ,malu dan segan tak kena tempat.Takut diketawakan,takut tak dihargai hingga kebolehan yang ada terperap tak sudah.Bukankah ada ibubapa yang bila ada anak istimewa malu nak tunjuk kepada orang lain.Takut di buat senda gurau.I salute to those who stand tall even though they might be impaired.
Remembered the call from JPN ,requesting me taking the post of GB at the Special School. If not because of my ailment ,I could be nearer to them.It was the travelling requirement that put me off in accepting the offer.The post required me to travel extensively since meetings of heads were centred in the many states capitals and KL. Ahhh ,if not for my weak knees.
